Job Description
Responsibilities
Front-line pager response support for varied operational environment.
Triage and quickly address system down issues for Production environments.
Configuration, maintenance, and tuning of systems/environments.
Analysis of system needs, problem trends, and performance to implement scalability/maintenance improvements.
Compilation of Service Level Agreement adherence metrics for customer sites.
Responsible for tracking and responding to operational support tickets.
Desired Candidate Profile
Experience and Education:
A minimum of 2 V 4 years of Operational Support experience.
A minimum of 1 V 2 years of experience working with Production application environments.
BS degree in engineering, computer science or other technical degree or equivalent training and experience.
Technical Skills:
Configuration, Maintenance and Tuning of Systems / Environments
Must have knowledge of standard operational best practices and help enforce adherence. Must understand and implement measures such as automated log rotation, file backup, application backup, monitor failover measures, etc.
Knowledgeable vigilance for the application environment being supported and the ability to diagnose and fix or escalate issues that effect scalability. Ideally, experience enough to make informed suggestions about areas of improvement
Experience with Oracle Databases a requirement.
Must have strong operating and administration experience of Windows (NT, 2000, XP) & of UNIX (Linux and Solaris) systems and networks.
Superb trouble-shooting skills, persistence in problem-solving.
A strong technical background in Web technologies, Internet, and networking protocols.
High level of knowledge and experience with Apache, JBoss, and associated Java internet technologies is preferred.
