Designation Senior Manager/Manager- IT
Job Description * Have overall responsibility for the Global and local IT Help Desks and support personnel located at Hyderabad, Chennai and SL Advanced Technology Centers or in the US or UK.
* Provide technical expertise in the management, administration and maintenance of the organizations desktops, laptops, telecommunication equipment and related hardware and software and oversee end-user support.
* Create, refine and ensure adherence to processes for attending to user calls and project requirements.
* Hiring, training, professional development and growth of the help desk teams.
* Track user perceptions of IT support through the use of appropriate metrics.
* Analyze IT reports to anticipate problem areas on account of capacity and support constraints and initiate proactive action.
* Determine and write standards and procedures for support functions.
* Maintain accurate and current documentation of desktops, laptops and associated hardware and software assets.
* Establish and implement tactical and strategic plans for IT support and develop associated budgets.
* Meet and consult regularly and proactively with key users, stakeholders, vendors and management to discuss and resolve challenges and support issues.
* Remain informed of the most current IT trends and technology.
Desired Profile * 10+ years of increasing responsibility and professional experience in process oriented IT support functions such as computer hardware support and IT management.
* Extensive exposure and experience of creating, implementing, monitoring and refining processes and procedures.
* Very good written and verbal communication skills.
* Extensive knowledge of information technology theory, principles and practices; considerable knowledge of data and voice communication systems, office automation systems.
* Knowledge and experience of scripting would be an added advantage.
* In-depth and/or working knowledge of the Microsoft technologies Windows 2003, AD, Exchange, SQL Server, SMS, MOM, ISA etc - in use at Virtusa.
* Working knowledge of wide and local area networks, network topologies and network operating systems.
* Working knowledge of CISCO products including PIX firewalls, CISCO routers and CISCO VPN.
* Unix/Linux experience desirable.
* Experience of having worked in a matrix organization.
* Must possess strong leadership and management skills.
* Must demonstrate the ability to interact with peers, management, and customers in a professional manner.
* Good interpersonal skills, tact, patience and courtesy required.
* Ability to function as a service provider sensitive to the needs of internal and external customers essential.
* Ability to communicate technical information effectively, both orally and in writing.
* Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills; demonstrated ability to anticipate needs and plan proactively.
* Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
* Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings as needed.
